Breast Cancer

On June 22, 2011 the New York State Senate passed a bill (S.1883A) sponsored by Senator John Flanagan, to provide stronger preventative health care for women. The bill requires supplemental screening coverage for women who have dense breast tissue or who are at greater risk for being diagnosed.

“This legislation will protect women throughout our state and it is my hope that the Assembly joins the Senate in making this a reality in New York State,” Flanagan remarked.

Perhaps more states will follow New York’s lead.
